What is it and why do I need one?
An NIE number is a national identity number for a foreigner in a foreign country. It also acts as a fiscal number which is why you may be asked for your number when purchasing a house or car.

How do I get one?
By completing an application form and supplying a copy of your passport along with a house purchase or rental contract or a certificate from a spanish bank account. We accompany you to Cartagena to make the application. This must be done in person. We aim to go to Cartagena once a week.

How long does it take?
The NIE number can usually be collected 20 days later.
